Mission:

CSP's mission is to attract and unite a group of active and civic-minded professionals who have a clear vision of Charlottesville's future as a great place to live, work, and play. CSP focuses on socializing with the group and continually being involved in the community.

Overview:

Charlottesville Social Professionals (formally CYP) was founded in 1998 by a few area professionals, with the support of some large corporations and local businesses, determined to attract and retain like-minded individuals around the area. Our members love to get together to enhance our lives and community through camaraderie, patronage, learning, and charitable efforts. Most of all, we have fun! Our members represent a vast array of the area's workforce, including the arts, administration, architecture, education, engineering, finance, food service, government, law, marketing, manufacturing, medicine, media, technology, the trades and other non-profits. CSP's frequent events include, but aren't limited to, membership parties, charity days, group brunch, lunch, and dinners, happy hours, a kickball team, pub crawls, fundraisers, game nights, and attending events in our community just to name a few! Every year members volunteer for the CSP Board of Directors which leads our organization.

CSP is a 501(c)7 non-profit organization. The Charlottesville Social Professionals (CSP) originally was founded as the Charlottesville Young Professionals (CYP) in 1999. To communicate greater inclusiveness and diversity of membership, CYP officially became CSP in 2015. It's membership is open to adults of any age, race, ethnicity, gender, religious background, sexual orientation, and ability.

Events and other membership benefits are made possible through membership dues, sponsorships by local businesses, and other fundraising efforts. We encourage you to sign up and attend one or two events to see if our group is a good fit for you. If so, we ask for annual membership dues of $20 to gain access to more events as well as other membership benefits. Our fiscal year runs from September 1st through August 31st each year. These dues can be paid by cash, check, PayPal (online payment includes a service charge).
